Our Story

DwellNova was born following the 2009 recession in Charlotte, when the founders witnessed a toughening-up period of our business — the strong survived. This, coupled with the evolution of technology, has really changed the way we work. Traditional main street business is a thing of the past, but it’s not just enough to be online either, you have to be pushing sales through multiple online marketing channels. We are more of a technology company that specializes in real estate.

We view the model of realtors being independent contractors out to fend for themselves as broken, it’s inefficient, and if you want to compete and serve your customers and clients exceptionally, you need to pool resources and inventory. DwellNova is a marketing alliance.

Giles Barker brings international experience in both the commercial and residential real estate business. Giles began his career in the UK in 1998, where he managed a portfolio of central London property, he then moved to Florida in 2006 where he brokered the sale of Miami Beach luxury homes for Sotheby’s International Realty®. Giles also brings the experience of working with many captains of industries, celebrities and sports personnel during his almost two decade business career between London, Miami and Charlotte.

Giles was excited to relocate with his family to Charlotte and put his 25+ years of experience into forming DwellNova and building a highly professional team to serve the Charlotte luxury home market.

This team goes the extra mile when marketing, advertising and branding their listings to ensure that every home is exposed to the widest audience while maintaining an element of exclusivity, and they don’t rest until it is sold.

Missy McCoy is a native Charlottean whose Tarheel ties run deep and wide. Missy has had the good fortune of owning homes in several of the Queen City’s most prestigious neighborhoods, from historic Myers Park and Dilworth, to bustling uptown Charlotte and the tranquil shores of Mountain Island Lake.
Her life experiences of home ownership and being a top-producing agent for well over a decade have proved beneficial to providing her prospective buyers with clarity and options that only a well-honed professional can offer.
